North Star Care was founded in 2021 by owner Christy Prue, whose passion for caregiving is rooted in more than two decades of hands-on experience.

After working as a CNA in both long-term care facilities and private home care for over 20 years, Christy saw firsthand the difference that truly compassionate, dependable care can make—not only in the lives of clients, but for their entire families. She also recognized how difficult it can be to find care that feels both professional and genuinely personal.

North Star Care was created to be that difference.

Built on a foundation of empathy, respect, and trust, our mission is to provide care that goes beyond completing daily tasks. We believe the essence of caregiving lies in compassion—ensuring every individual feels valued, supported, and able to maintain dignity in their daily life.

Today, our team of highly trained CNA’s, HHA’s, and companions brings a wide range of experience in Alzheimer’s care, dementia support, hospice assistance, and more. Every caregiver is chosen not only for their qualifications, but for their kindness, attentiveness, and ability to build meaningful connections.

We offer flexible, personalized care designed to meet each family’s unique needs—including short and long-hour shifts, live-in care, 24-hour support, respite care, companionship, and transportation. Families also have access to a dedicated 24/7 phone line, ensuring support and peace of mind at any time.

In 2025, we expanded our commitment to the future of caregiving by launching our Home Health Aide training program in partnership with Care Academy. This hybrid program combines online learning with hands-on clinical training led by a highly trained RN—allowing us to help develop the next generation of compassionate, skilled caregivers.
